In
order to comply with State Guidelines, students enrolled at A.C.E.
will be required to complete 891 learning-hours over the course of the
school year.
The school year at A.C.E. is 33 weeks. We expect students to be
engaged in active learning for 27 hours per week.
Unlike public school, at A.C.E., active learning does not
necessarily mean sitting in a classroom.
Our cooperative learning model affords each student the opportunity to
design a Learning Contract
that takes into consideration each student's
individual needs while complying with State requirements.
There may be as as many different learning contract designs as there
are personalities in the school. Still, A.C.E. does offer guidelines
and a great deal of support in assisting students to succeed.
That said, all students undergo a complete assessment proces to
identify their academic strengths and weaknesses, their learning styles
and their personality type. We screen for learning disabilities,
differences and most importantly, special talents.
The curriculum integrates a standard curriculum with the interests and
values of the student. We
incorporate traditional lesson planning with creative, value-added
components to each students learning contract.
A.C.E. strives for academic excellence through igniting individual
talents and the projected
end-result each individual identifies as motivating them to complete
school. ie: a specific trade, college or personal enrichment.
